Graduation Rate Percent, 2004 - 2009

Definition: The percentage of students that graduate (earn the number of credits required by the local Board of Education) from high school, meeting Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary requirements. Boone County School Districts include Southern Boone County, Hallsville, Sturgeon, Centralia, Harrisburg, and Columbia Public Schools. Graduation Rate is determined by the following formula: Graduates/(9-12 Cohort Dropouts + Graduates) x 100. These data are reported by December 1 of the following year.

Rationale: This statistic meets most criteria. These data are used to judge the effectiveness of school districts across the United States.
